ABOUT VOICE MINISTRY NEW ENGLAND
HOW IT BEGAN
VOICE Ministry was started in 2002. It began with 2-3 people meeting
to pray for the persecuted church. What started out as a burden to respond to our family’s
suffering has now grown into a ministry. We feel we have been called
and are committed to helping our suffering family pick up their cross daily. As
we have committed our prayers and our time and resources, we have grown in faith and love
for our Lord Jesus. We have joined hands and hearts with these criminals around the world.
Their crime? They refuse to deny their Lord and Savior, even at the threat of death.
HOW IT WORKS
VOICE Ministry is inspired by
The Voice
of the Martyrs ministry. We felt the call to answer the command of
Hebrews 13:3.
"Remember those in bonds as bound with them, and those suffering afflictions
as you yourself are in the same body." We try to live
out that call. We see many ministries vie for our attention, but in seeking to be
good stewards we notice that there
are more volunteers at Voice of the Martyrs than
paid employees. We believe this is the way
it should be. We are servants, not employees. We serve the Most High God. We
notice that funds go to those in the deepest need,
to the desperate. They need a blanket for shelter in Sudan, not linens to dress a home. VOM sends Bibles where there are none. The caliber of good news carriers are not missionaries who need $50,000 a year to live, but native missionaries who
live in huts. They provide a meal each day for the worker’s family in order for the worker to be free to go
into
the most dangerous places with the gospel. They go where few others would dare to
go and are ready to lay down their life for the gospel if necessary.
WHAT WE DO!
We began sending Action Packs of new and used items to practically assist our brothers
and sisters in Afghanistan, Iraq and Pakistan.
We began sending cards and letters out to those who were incarcerated for their faith in Jesus Christ.
We had our first
REDEEMED Yard Sale in 2004 and raised over $1,000. We were able
to send 1,000 helium filled scripture balloons into the darkest country,
North Korea. Our burden grew substantially at this time. We are a voice for those who are silenced
by torture or even death. We have decided we will not be silenced as long as the
Lord gives us breath.
WE ARE MULTIPLYING!
We believe in the motto, “If it works don’t fix it.” Ministry that is simple, effective,
and easy to duplicate saves time, money, and energy. We like that!
God has laid out simple and logical ways for us to serve Him.
Not long ago our sister Rachael was burdened to build her own group in neighboring
Massachusetts. Her group meets for Voice of the Martyrs related activities at Grace
Bible Church in Somerset, Mass. You can
